Biography

Geertruy "Grietje" Van Alstyne was born around 1690 to Isaac Van Alstyne and Maritje Abrahamse Vosburgh. All four of her grandparents were immigrants from the Netherlands.

She married Pieter Vroman in 1706 in Albany, New York, after registering intentions of marriage on 2 February 1706.[1] According to the marriage record, she was born in the Colonie of Rensselaerswyck and lived there at the time of her marriage. Pieter was born in Schenectady and was living there at the time.
